I originally bought some hot pink hair extensions for my Halloween costume… and then decided I definitely needed green too!
I’ve never actually worn hair extensions before, so after a few YouTube tutorials I decided to experiment. I wasn’t going anywhere. I had absolutely no reason to get dressed up. I just wanted to play with my hair and feel pretty.
I’d also been thinking lately about one of my favorite shirts from my freshman year of college. After a few weeks of it randomly being on my mind, I finally went looking online to see if maybe someone was selling it on a vintage or pre-owned site. I never found the exact one, but I did find this “new” (to me) Y2K top on Depop that looks so much like it… and it makes me ridiculously happy to wear it! I thought it would be fun to pair it with the pink and green extensions today.
I’ve been really into pink and green lately, which is quite a change as my favorite color for decades has been blue. Pink was my favorite color as a little girl, so maybe my inner child is coming out to play? Not sure… but I’ve been noticing how much I love pink and green together!
And maybe that’s part of something else I’ve been enjoying lately too… wearing makeup, dressing nicely even when I have nowhere to go, playing with my hair just because I feel like it. Just little things that make me feel good about myself.
And I think that’s important. So, I’ve been finding little ways to bring myself joy lately… for no reason other than that. 💗💚
